Is Dubrovnik Gay Friendly?
As a country, Croatia on the whole is not particularly progressive or lgbtq+ friendly, however when visiting the tourist hot spots, enjoy the case in many countries, we felt very protected and had no trouble at all.
Taken from a local, ‘during summer in Dubrovnik you are fine, maybe in winter when there are no tourists you might obtain a look or two but nothing more’.

As a country, Croatia is not particularly well established for being progressive and gay friendly compared to other countries in Europe such as Spain.

Croatia has develop an insider tip for male lover travellers in recent years. The local gay scene is turning more self-confident and is getting bigger and bigger, the population is also making progress although there is still a social taboo regarding homosexuality. Therefore, when visiting this beautiful territory, the following applies: The local gays are not necessarily used to yet if someone approaches them too openly. You should take it slowly.
We have listed below some Croatian beaches that are known for being gay-friendly. On some of them there is also a lot of cruising taking place.
1. Duilovo Beach
This beach is near the lovely city of Split. It is not a nudist beach, but there is a nearby cruising area in the surrounding woods, so you can often uncover gay men on the beach. You can reach the beach from Split by bus number 15 or by car. Duilovo Beach is rather rocky and lined by beautiful pine trees.

Gay and swinger beaches in Rovinj
Cape Cross or in Croatian „Punta Križ“ is a popular gathering detect of gay and swinger individuals coming from all across Europe.

There are only a 2 restaurants near by offering decent dishes and refreshing drinks. Around the beach there is a dense forest vegetation consisted of pine trees and autochthonous oak „crnika“, utopian for relaxing and resting in the shade.
