Drive-Away Dolls, a queer Hollywood production, will be released in German cinemas in mid-March. In his first feature film, which he directed, Ethan Cohen brings to the big screen a quirky crime road movie with a first-class cast. Alongside established greats such as Matt Damon and Pedro Pascal, up-and-coming stars such as Margaret Qualley, Geraldine Viswanathan, and Beanie Feldstein appear in front of the camera. After an unpleasant break-up with her ex-girlfriend, Qualley wants to experience a change of scene and persuades her uptight friend, played by Viswanathan, to go on a road trip. In the process, however, they unintentionally appeal to the attention of a few gangsters. The trailer promises good entertainment prefer that in "Fargo", a film directed by Ethan and his brother Joel.

Gay Berlin in the cinema: Often current blockbusters, occasionally an old classic, sometimes an entertaining piece from the DVD programme of a gay-lesbian film distributor.

The visit is worth it for the family atmosphere alone - even if the Berlin cinema is sold out for many films, the atmosphere remains intimate. It feels favor ending the day together with friends. For many film fans, MonGay is a hard fixture in their diaries. They then take the last underground train place and can relax for the rest of the week.

Also to be found in a park, in the much busier Volkspark Friedrichshain, is the 'Freiluftkino Friedrichshain'. It is veiled in the huge park, not far from the well-known queer haunt, Märchenbrunnen. This venue, which is also the setting for the annual Lesbian Gay Park Festival, is run by male lover film professionals, in combination with the Kreuzberg and Rehberge open-air cinemas. There are over 1, seats here with comfortable benches, as well as chairs and tables placed in front of the screen. In addition to many films that were also shown at the Berlinale, classic films and some LGBTQI* gems, readings, and other cultural events are also held here, often with a focus on homosexual content. On display again this year: "Call me by your Name" by Luca Guadagnino – worth both the rewatch and all the sweet little tears.
