These establishments provided an environment that allowed this community to both find, explore and flourish their own sexual-orientations as successfully as meet similar other people and create connections to like-minded social circles. Numerous bars (if not all) in both Winston-Salem and Greensboro area are supportive of the LGBTQIA2S+ community. In Winston-Salem, this is especially true in the Arts District, place of Single Brothers, Silver Moon Saloon and the newly opened Hel’s. with the exception of a rare incident on the part of some inbred teenager, I have not seen much in the way of gay bashing. By in large, GSO is an educated community, hate crimes are much more frequently committed by the woefully undereducated.
